Why meal prepping can help you with weight loss?
Eating healthy food is key to reaching your fitness goals and your weight loss goals. The biggest problem I see in my clients is not having meal plans in place. So if you are used to grabbing takeout or making a frozen pizza then follow some of these tips to have convenient meals that are nutritious. Having things prepped and ready literally makes the difference between you staying stuck in old habits versus making changes and sticking with your healthy eating.
What is a healthy meal?
Healthy meals should include fresh ingredients and whole foods. This doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing thing. Just slowly start to add more Whole Foods to your diet.
I know changing what you're eating and eating more Whole Foods can be overwhelming but if you want to make delicious meals and have a healthy lifestyle then you need to spend a little time getting a system in place. If you want to learn more about whole food and clean eating check out my video here!
How to get started with fit and healthy meal prep
First, pick out a day of the week when you can consistently plan your meals. Start with just planning 3 to 4 meals for the week. Then make your shopping list and head to the grocery store.
And here is the biggest fit meal hack, as soon as you get home from the store start prepping some of the vegetables that you will need that week. Place those veggies in food storage containers so they are ready to go when you're busy during the week. Then making a meal will be a breeze!

Fit meal prep freezer meals
It's also a great idea to have some freezer meals ready when you need something quick to grab. Also instead of letting fresh food rot in the refrigerator, chop them up and freeze them. You can make a freezer meal from it.
For example, I knew we weren't going to eat some peppers in our fridge, so I chopped them up with some onions and chicken and froze them so that we could have fajitas later. It was a great quick meal to have that was already chopped and prepped.
Instant Pot idea for quick & healthy meal prep
The instant pot can be your friend. Not only is it great for freezer meals and making dinners, but you can also prepare some things at the beginning of the week.
Some great things to prep in the instant pot are boiled eggs, sweet potatoes, and whole grains like rice or quinoa. Then you will have healthy items ready in your fridge and stay on track with your health goals.
Smoothie bags that makes smoothies even faster
Smoothies are great and give you a big dose of nutrition, but sometimes it can take a while getting everything out and getting it ready. So if smoothies slow you down then you're going to love this tip.
Make smoothie bags ahead of time. Put all the ingredients you're going to need minus the liquid in the bag and place in the freezer. Then all you have to do is throw the ingredients in the blender and add your liquids and you're ready to go.
